Split is a good base for day trips by boat — Šolta, Hvar, the Pakleni Islands, Krka, the Blue Cave on Biševo, all reachable and back in a day. These are the ones we actually run, picked by the captains who drive the boats.

Boat, captain, snorkeling gear, drinks, lunch on most full-day trips. One price, no surprises. Just show up at the harbor and we handle the rest.
Our captains grew up on these islands. They know the cove that's empty when the famous beach is packed, the konoba where locals eat, the spot where the water is clearest.
The day trips our guests rate highest. All run with our own captains, multiple swim stops, and at least one anchorage most boats skip.

30 minutes from Split, off Drvenik Veli. Shallow water, sand bottom, easy swimming. Our most-booked tour.
1 hour by boat. Walk the old town, see the lavender fields inland, swim in the Pakleni Islands on the way back. Busy in July and August — go in June or September if you can.
45 minutes by boat. Home to Zlatni Rat — Croatia's most photographed beach. Great for swimming, wind-surfing, and authentic island village life.
30-45 minutes by boat. Less touristy than Hvar or Brač. Olive groves, hidden coves, traditional fishing villages. Where locals from Split actually go.
30 minutes by car or boat. A 2,300-year-old island town with Roman, Venetian and Romanesque architecture. The best-preserved medieval center in central Europe.
1 hour by road. Famous for cascading waterfalls and turquoise pools. Best combined with a coastal stop. Bring a swimsuit — there's swimming when conditions allow.
Season runs May to October. June and September are the best weeks — warm sea, fewer boats. Most tours leave 9-10 AM and are back by 5-6 PM. Take an earlier slot if you want the Blue Lagoon or the Pakleni anchorage before the rest of the fleet shows up.
One day in Split — do the Blue Lagoon. Easiest swim, shortest crossing, and you're back in time for dinner. Two days — add Hvar or Brač. With small kids, pick Šolta: shorter open-water stretches, calmer ride. With a partner, take the late-afternoon boat and eat on board as the wind drops.
Swimsuit, SPF 50, hat, sunglasses, towel, water shoes for the pebble beaches. We have snorkelling gear, drinking water and shade on board. Pack a light layer for the ride home — the afternoon maestral picks up most days.
Group day tours run €60-130 per person on a fixed route with 10-30 other guests on board. Good if you want a planned day, don't mind sharing the boat, and like meeting people from elsewhere. The schedule is set: you leave when the captain leaves and you swim where the boat anchors.
Private charters start at €399 for a half-day. You pick the boat, the route, the swim stops, and what time you head back. For groups of four or more, the per-person price often lands close to a group tour. Tell us your dates and how many you are — we'll send back a route that fits.
The best day trips from Split are: Blue Lagoon (Šolta), Hvar Island, Brač with Zlatni Rat beach, Trogir UNESCO town, and Krka National Park waterfalls. All can be done in a single day from Split.
Group boat tours typically cost €60-130 per person depending on duration and what's included. Private charters start from €399 for a half-day. Krka and Trogir day trips by land are €30-60 per person.
Yes — Hvar is about 1 hour from Split by catamaran or boat tour. Most day trips include the historic town, the Spanish Fortress for sunset views, and the Pakleni Islands for swimming. You return to Split the same evening.
For most travelers, Blue Lagoon is better. Blue Cave requires 4+ hours on a speedboat with no bathroom and 1-3 hours of waiting in line for a 10-minute visit. Blue Lagoon is 30-45 minutes away on a comfortable boat with hours of swimming time.
May to October is the season. June and September have the best balance of warm weather and smaller crowds. July and August are peak summer with the warmest sea but most crowded boats.
